Hi, just got my new controller and need to say this is an incredible piece of gear. The craftsmanship is outstanding.
Now to my problem: I want to use the buttons to do track selection in ableton. This is also available in Universal Yaeltex script and you can do this with MIDI mapping. The issue is that the button is not lighting up as it happens with the mute mapping. It looks like Ableton is not sending MIDI messages to the controller when selecting new active track.
Welcome to the club — and glad the controller landed well!
Track selection in Ableton works differently from mute/solo — it’s not a parameter that Ableton “broadcasts” back as MIDI feedback the same way it does with mute states. So when you MIDI map a button to track select, Ableton triggers the action, but doesn’t send a return message to light up the button.
Try using the Universal Remote Script; it has proper bidirectional communication with Live, which is exactly what you need for LED feedback.
If you need this outside of YURS, a small M4L device can watch the selected track and send MIDI back to your controller.
Hi, thank you for the quick feedback. I tried this yesterday with the Universal Script but this did also not work. Treck selection does work but button does not light up. I will try it again today and give back result.
