Hi there again,
I am trying to figure out how to edit / write a script to input notes via the Yaeltex buttons. and get feedback when there is a note preset on the grid like a 16-step gate / trigger sequencer / drum machine. (No pitch required, but if it can do pitch too, then great!!)
I have seen a video of someone on youtube who has made a script for Bitwig, and was using the encoders to input notes, and was getting the feedback when the notes were played / recorded.
I don’t want to hear the drum sound when I hit the button. (I could press record and input the note in the usual way for that!!)
I only want to be able to input the notes on a grid of 16 steps, and have it light up when it plays, like a standard step sequencer for inputting notes on a grid of 16-steps (or more)
I have thought of using a drum rack, or having the same sample spreading over an octave + starting from -C1 and going up, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to remove the key follow pitch command within the sampler, and the pitch rises up as the steps run through.
There is a way to change sounds via CC Program Change, so I could have One drum sound, and send a midi CC Prg Change, and not have to touch the computer, as using a drum rack would require to load a preset (which you would have to so via computer trackpad etc)
I would like to understand which commands within the map.py, and any other .py stuff I should be aware of within the script’s folder of Ableton.
Which ones are useful and relevant for my task, or even the ones to avoid messing with, as I’m sure tweaking and re-starting the computer for 2-days in a tral and error scenario can be avoided with the right start off information.
There is a way, but no information available on what is needed.
Thank you, and I’m sure there are loads of Yaeltex owners, who have the same interest in using their units to its full potential.
I see Richie Hawtin has a script also for Bitwig too?
Come on guys, share the wisdom
Ableton must be able to receive the data, as it does its Push, and Launch Pad companions.
Can the Yaeltex produce the commands?
Someone must know how these scripts work?
Thanks again for the support here, and I hope to see some more information regarding midi / cv gate, modular, and sequencer integration with Yealtex.
Have a great weekend
