Issue/Question: using the controller's physical midi ports

Hello! I’ve connected a Ferrofish Pulse 16 via MIDI In/Out to my Yaeltex midi ports In/Out. I am able to control the Ferrofish through it’s remote app on my mac but it never sends it’s current settings to the app. I’ll try to explain better. It doesn’t receive updated information from the Ferrofish unit upon opening the remote app so all of the current settings on the Ferrofish doesn’t reflect on the remote app. The remote app just shows default factory settings of the Ferrofish unit. It will jump to current settings of the unit if I change the settings on the Ferrofish itself but it only updates the remote app per section changed and not the whole unit. Sorry if this is confusing.

I’ve connected The Ferrofish unit via a Komplete Kontrol midi port and everything works as expected.
I’ve tried different settings on kilowhat but none of them seem to work like on the Komplete Kontrol midi ports.

Thanks!

Hey Eric!
I’m not sure I understand.

Is the issue not getting the initial dump from the Ferrofish app reflected on the controller?
Can you try spying on the output of the Ferrofish app with this midi monitor to check that the messages are being sent?

Let’s see if we can make it work.

Yes I think the issue is not getting the initial dump.

Here’s a screen shot. I definitely don’t know what I am looking at here but there was an initial sysex dump when I open the ferrofish controller app. I should check what the dump looks like when connected to the Komplete Kontrol midi ports. I’ll report back.

Here’s the dump with the Komplete Kontrol midi ports

Thanks for the patience @ericgma

Please set the monitor to “spy on output destinations.” Select your controller from the list and share the screenshot so we can see what messages the app is sending during initialization.
